Historique
William Nelson Sydney Hunter (1878 – 1966) was born in 1878. In 1903, he married Pearl Louise Kent (1881-1956) and had three sons and one daughter. After owning and operating Hunter's Sanitary Store from 1914-1928, he went on to be the district manager of the Excelsior Life Insurance Company (c. 1930s). A 1953 Hamilton Spectator article citing the couple's golden wedding anniversary states that they resided in Hamilton as of 1908. Hunter was a long-time member of the Roselawn Lawn Bowling Club, Ryerson United Church, and a life member of Acacia Lodge No. 61. He died on March 16, 1966 and was buried at Woodland Cemetery.
