The collection was compiled by Elaine Hughes over the course of her musical career. Elaine Hughes contacted the Hamilton Public Library, Local History & Archives, to donate the material.

The fonds consists of records and artefacts belonging to Elaine & Bernie Hughes and includes the following series: artefacts, audio, personal, photographs, publicity and scrapbooks.

Arrangement
Signed photographs were taken out of the back of one scrapbook and placed in the Photographs series. Oversize photos were removed from frames.
