Biographical history
Bruce William New was born in Toronto in 1944. New graduated from Downsview Collegiate and pursued a brief career in industrial accounting before going into several entrepreneurial businesses including trucking, a dealership, a sales agency and a tour company. New lives in Hamilton and Largo, Florida.
Custodial history
The manuscripts were given to the Local History & Archives Department in Hamilton Public Library by Robert Oldham, and they were maintained by the creator Bruce William New.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of three computer typed manuscripts written by Bruce New. The first manuscript is entitled "Down to the Pub" a memoir of the Gown and Gavel Pub former located at 24 Hess Street South in Hamilton. The second manuscript titled "...and so it came to pass.." is a collection of short entertainment. The third manuscript titled "On the Bus" recounts bus experiences in the city.
