Inventories

Series consists of inventories that were completed in various years by members of the Society to determine what items existed in the collection at Battlefield House, whether the items were relevant to the time period, and what items were still needed to complete the collection. There is an account book recording the inventory of household furniture and relics donated by members of the Women’s Wentworth Historical Society and members of the public to refurnish Battlefield House, dated 1921, an inventory of collection items and a record of items needed that was recorded circa the 1940s, and a detailed inventory recording contents such as books, brass items, china, embroidery, rugs, pictures, cutlery, weapons, and furniture such as beds, cupboards, desks, dressing tables, settees and sofas, tables, wash stands, chairs and lamps. The inventory dated 1950, records the object, the type of material, the time period, the origin, the donor, the size, and the date of acquisition. Some of the material was on loan from the Royal Ontario Museum, and other material was donated permanently by members of the Society and the public. An inventory of the contents of Battlefield House (completed by member Jean Gage), records the items dated pre-1830, or as having belonged to the Gage family, as well as reference cards with the type of material, a description, a reference number, and the name of the donor, dated 1950. There is also an undated inventory of furnishings for disposal.

Canadian Acceptance Corporation Ltd. dealt in automobile and industrial financing. They first appear in the city directory at this address in 1941. They last appear at this address in 1953.

Series is divided into 10 subseries consisting of predominantly photographs, negatives and contact sheets featuring different individuals photographed by Peter Stevens. There are also some textual documents such as publicity material. The subseries includes actors, artistic directors, artists, authors, designers, lawyers, musicians, politicians, known subjects and unknown subjects.

HUGS/HGALA Honour Roll Dinners

This subseries are of photographs from the second to the fifth Honour Roll Dinners. The first Honour Roll Dinner was held on November 26, 1986 at Fazari Brothers Restaurant, 228 King St. West. The Honour Roll was awarded to Susie Robinson. There is no photographic record of this dinner.

HUGS - Gay History of Hamilton

This envelope contains photographs of specific locations in Hamilton which includes gay spaces such as Billie's Place and where HUGS events took place such as YMCA. A list of the places are included in this envelope.

Household Account Books

Series consists of an account book listing an inventory of household furniture and goods owned by A. Logie, as well as a ledger, identified as a farm book, documenting transactions throughout the year.

Item is a photograph of a Hostess Wafflette & Timbale Cup set of three cast iron moulds, distributed by Clewood Products and used for making rossette waffles and timbales. The set includes a handle and instructions.

Series consists of records containing documentation on the history of the Hamilton Poetry Centre and includes two copies of the organization's Draft Statement, an original, signed copy of the Hamilton Poetry Centre Constitution, as well as documents outlining the tasks and responsibilities of the Executive Committee.
