Subseries consists of land ownership materials, including land grants and deeds, records documenting the transfer of land ownership, such as an indenture between George Hamilton and David Farley regarding land in Hamilton, and land grants for the Township of Harvey. Subseries also contains a memorial deed of partition, leases, a petition for a claim on land lots, a certificate of a land survey, notices for sale of properties, receipts for payment of taxes and rents, acknowledgements for receipts of land and money, as well as correspondence and lot surveys concerning the town of Preston, Ontario.

Series consists of records pertaining to the purchase of land by the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club for the use as a nature and wildlife sanctuary. The land became known as the Short Hills Wilderness Area. Records in this series also document the legal correspondence between the former land owner, a hydro electric company and pipeline company regarding the expropriation of a portion of land, as well as debris being left on the property causing damage to the farmland.

Series consists of programs and events hosted by the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club and Junior Audubon Club. Programs include bald eagle hacking to stimulate eagle nesting and population recovery, as well as bird study groups and regular nature walks and outings. Former programs included the Wonders of Nature Show as well as the Nature in your Neighbourhood program, which featured Club members and community group speakers, discussing topics such as wildlife preservation and protection, nature photography and bird watching. This series also includes events such as the 85th anniversary of the Club, which unveiled the organization’s historic plaque at Princess Point, a lecture by Dr. Norman Pearson on the Bruce Trail, Hamilton NatureFest, and the Robert Bateman fundraiser dinner. Archibald of Mount Allison Memorial Library, Sackville, New Brunswick, concerning the closing of Wesleyan Ladies' College, the first principal, degrees given, the Alumnae Association, the first woman to receive a bachelor's degree, the music library at Mount Allison, the first graduate, Burlington Ladies' Academy and Woodstock College.

Series consists of records relating to poetry readings hosted by the Hamilton Poetry Centre, including those held externally in different locations in the city of Hamilton, information on the Canada Council Public Readings Program, readings relating to the League of Canadian Poets regarding their Canada Poetry Tours Program, readings by visiting poets, documentation relating to a festival of contemporary Canadian poetry (Canada Poetry Now), presented by the Hamilton Poetry Centre from March 6th to March 8th of 1986, which was held at the Art Gallery of Hamilton and included lectures, readings and poetry workshops for aspiring poets and writers, as well as information on the Poetry in the Schools Program, with readings at local schools. This file contains some poetry written by some of the students.

Series consists of photographs of Jimmy Lomax, his wife Susan and his son, Ryan, as well as various individuals and events pertaining to the fundraising of his Operation Santa Claus project. This series begins with some historical photographs of hospital visits undertaken by previous individuals who played Santa Claus from the 1930s to the 1950s. This series on photographs also includes a few images of Harold Alkerton who was Jimmy Lomax’s Santa when Lomax was sick in the hospital as a child. Alkerton was the person who inspired Jimmy to play the role of Santa himself to other unfortunate children and adults. The photographs in this series also highlight the beginning of Lomax’s role as Santa Claus, Lomax family members, the Lomax family trip to Disney World, which they were awarded by the Hamilton business community, Santa visits to families, organizations and institutions, Operation Santa Claus fundraisers such as garage sales, picnics, toy rides, among others, as well as work parties, Jimmy Lomax on parade, the Santa Van and photographs of his awards and recognition. This series also includes a file of photographs with little archival context and unidentified individuals.

Series consists of photographs of annual meetings of the Municipal Chapter, the 100th Anniversary Luncheon, annual meetings of the Toronto Municipal Chapter and the Provincial Chapter of Ontario, photographs of various Holbrook Public School outings supported by IODE funding, photographs of Fonthill, including pictures of the interior and exterior of the house, and photographs of Native Sena Memorial Elementary School, Weagamow Lake. Photographs have been removed from albums for preservation purposes. Textual records, such as clippings, letters, newsletters and notes from events accompany some of the photographs. Series also contains photographs, which were not contained in albums, documenting volunteer work and various chapter activities, as well as a reception held for Ellen Fairclough.

Series consists of photographic negatives, the majority of which pertain to industry and commerce in Hamilton and elsewhere in Ontario during the 1930s-1950s. Many images in the series document wartime activity in industrial plants, such as the preparation of packages for soldiers and the Miss War Worker contest of 1942. Series includes images of schools, including McMaster University, the High School of Commerce, and Westdale Secondary School; other local sites, such as the Royal Botanical Gardens and Municipal Swimming Pool; and local churches. Series also depicts employees, products, facilities and activities of businesses, including Stelco, Hamilton Works Council, Sawyer Massey Co., Westinghouse, Hamilton Bridgeworks, Burlington Steel, Harry Adler Furniture Co., Central Garage, R.T. Series includes copy negatives of Columbia Records advertising materials and album covers from the 1940s.
